An evening of fun, music, food, and the traditional candlelight procession as you cross over from student to an alumnus of Emory University.

The Emory University School of Medicine Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Diploma Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. EST at The Emory Student Center (ESC). Graduating students participating virtually, as well as additional family and friends, will have the opportunity to share in the activities via a live (and on-demand) webcast of the ceremony. The Diploma Ceremony will feature remarks by The Doctor of Physical Therapy Interim Director, Dr. Tami Phillips, Department of Rehabilitation Chairman, Dr. David Burke and Emory University Trustee, Bishop David Graves. Our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Lisa VanHoose, PT, PhD, MPH a Clinical Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Baylor University. The Emory University School of Medicine MD Diploma Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. EST at Glenn Auditorium. Graduates and their guests will participate in a socially distanced, in-person ceremony at that time. Masks are required to be worn by all attendees. Additional guests, family, and friends will have the opportunity to share in the activities via a live (and on-demand) webcast of the ceremony. The Diploma Ceremony will feature remarks by the Dean of the School of Medicine, Vikas, P. Sukhatme.  Graduating students attending in-person will be individually recognized during the ceremony. The Papageorge Teaching Award will be presented and recipients of the University Exemplary Teaching Award, and Distinguished Teaching Award will be recognized. Graduating students must officially register themselves and their guests to attend the ceremony.  Registration must be completed through the MarchingOrder Portal.Dangerous weather: The ceremony has been moved to Glenn Memorial Auditorium. Goizueta Business School Master’s Degree Candidate Recognition Ceremony (MSBA & MBA Executive, Full-time and Evening formats)

The MBA and MSBA Candidate Recognition Ceremony will take place on Friday, May
6, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. EST at the Woodruff PE Center on Emory’s campus. Graduating students attending in-person will be individually recognized during the Ceremony. Registration must be completed through the MarchingOrder Portal by April 15, 2022.  Family and friends will have an opportunity to view a live stream of the ceremony. Baccalaureate is a multifaith spiritual time of reflection and celebration on the Friday afternoon before Commencement. This includes:

  • Graduating seniors sharing music, reflections, and meditations with one another
  • President Fenves, Deans, and chaplains offering their best wishes and blessings to the graduating class

Candler’s graduating students and their guests are invited to a Commencement Brunch following the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at Candler School of Theology, 1531 Dickey Drive, Atlanta, GA, 30322. The ceremony will be live streamed. The Emory Alumni Association invites graduating Legacy students and their families to a special ceremony recognizing their connection to the University.

Emory Legacy Families recognizes individuals who make an Emory education part of their family tradition. We encourage the Emory spirit in students who are children, grandchildren, and/or siblings of Emory graduates. Generations of families have passed on the Emory tradition, and we celebrate this special relationship.

The Rollins School of Public Health Diploma Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 7 at 10:00AM EST. A livestream option will be available. Summer 2021, Fall 2021, and Spring 2022 graduates are required to register to participate. Additional details about how to submit an RSVP will be announced. The ceremony will be hosted by Dean Curran and Dean
Delia Lang, and will feature remarks from the RSPH Student Speaker. RSPH will also be presenting individual awards for faculty and students. All graduates will be individually recognized in-person at the RSPH Degree Candidate Recognition Ceremony and online on the Emory Commencement Website.

Oxford Quadrangle

Oxford College will hold its 177th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m. on the Oxford College Quadrangle. During the ceremony Oxford College will present the Virgil Y.C. Eady Sophomore Service Award to a sophomore student and the Emory Williams Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Award to one of its faculty members. Graduating students should register themselves and their guests for the ceremony by April 25
th through MarchingOrder.

School of Medicine, Genetic Counseling Training Program

The Emory University School of Medicine, Genetic Counseling Training Program Diploma Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM EST in the Whitehead Auditorium on the Emory main campus.
 The Diploma ceremony will feature remarks by the Director of the Emory Genetic Counseling Training Program, Dr. Cecelia Bellcross and the commencement address by Dr. Stephanie Wechsler, the current program medical director. The ceremony will also include award presentations for the “Outstanding Genetic Counseling Student of the Year”, The “Paul M. Fernhoff Excellence in Teaching Award”, and the “Best Student Research Presentation”. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony outside the building in the plaza area. Students will need to submit guest numbers to MarieAnge Charlestin at  mcharl5@emory.edu by April 1st.

An African-themed graduation ceremony celebrating the achievements of Black graduates. The ceremony pays tribute to African ancestors and heritage. Prior to the ceremony, guests are invited to participate in the Modupe Dayo reception on McDonough Field starting at 2:30 p.m. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Celebrating Accomplishments and Recognizing Academic Success (C.A.R.A.S.) is a ceremony that honors graduating members of the Latinx community at Emory. Event is hosted in both English and Spanish. Dinner is provided.

The James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies will hold its Diploma Ceremony on
Sunday, May 8, at 11 am. The ceremony will be hosted by Dean Kimberly Jacob Arriola. All graduates will be recognized individually, and doctoral graduates will be hooded by their faculty advisors. Emory College of Arts and Sciences Honors Ceremony 
Glenn Memorial Auditorium 

Dean Michael Elliott presides. Recognition of academic honorees. For graduating seniors who have completed the College Honors Program, their families, Honors committee directors, and College faculty. This is a ticketed event. The Honors Program will distribute two tickets to each Honors student; Honors students and faculty do not need a ticket to enter. Doors will open an hour prior to the ceremony beginning. For your safety, we are not permitted to allow guests to stand or sit in the aisles, vestibule, or areas reserved for the students. The ceremony will also be available for viewing via a live (and on-demand) webcast.

The law school’s D
egree Candidate Recognition Ceremony is scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. at the Woodruff P.E. Center, on campus. The ceremony will be held in person, and it will also be shared via a live (and on-demand) webcast of the ceremony.  The ceremony will feature remarks by Emory Law Dean Mary Anne Bobinski and winners of the Most Outstanding Graduating Student and Most Outstanding Professor awards. Emory Law will also present the Provost's Distinguished Teaching Award of Excellence in Graduate and Professional Education and Adjunct Teaching Award. Graduating students will be individually recognized during the ceremony. Registration and further details will be provided later.

Asian Pacific Islander and Desi American (APIDA) Graduation Ceremony

A ceremony celebrating Emory’s Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American community and honoring the achievements of our graduating students. Post-ceremony reception to follow beginning at 7:30pm on the Emory Student Center Plaza. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Emory University Commencement Ceremony on the Quadrangle

Graduating students and their guests* are invited and encouraged to enjoy the pomp and circumstance of Emory’s processional march featuring full academic regalia, the keynote address, honorary degree presentations, the president’s address to the graduating class, and the formal group conferral of all student degrees earned.  Emory's twenty-first president, President Gregory L. Fenves, presides over the event.

th, immediately following the University Ceremony on the Quad. The ceremony will be held in-person and feature remarks from Dean of Emory College, Michael A. Elliott and the Senior Class Orator, the sole student speaker. All individual graduates will be individually recognized on stage. The ceremony will also be available for viewing via a live (and on-demand) webcast. Tickets are not required for this ceremony. Join us as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Class of 2022 graduates! 

Dangerous weather: Bachelor of Arts will be at 8:00 a.m. and Bachelor of Sciences will be at 10:00 a.m. in in the Woodruff Physical Education Center. Both events will be ticketed.

The Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing Degree Candidate Recognition Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 9th at 11:00AM EST at the Emory University Student Center. A livestream option will be available. Spring 2022 graduates have been invited to participate and are asked to submit an RSVP for themselves and their guests by April 20, 2022 at 11:59PM EST. The ceremony will be hosted by Dean Linda McCauley and will feature remarks from student speakers. All graduates will be individually recognized in-person at the SON Diploma Ceremony.

9th immediately following the University Ceremony on the Quad, at approximately 11 AM Eastern, at the Woodruff P.E. Center. The ceremony will be held in person, and it will also be shared via a live (and on-demand) webcast of the ceremony.  A champagne toast and brunch will take place on Patterson Green following the ceremony.

Dangerous weather: This ceremony will move to 1:00 p.m. in the same location.

Emory’s Medical Imaging Program Diploma Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. in Harland Cinema, which is located on Emory’s Atlanta campus. 
RSVP information, health and safety requirements for the event and guest attendance information is to be determined, and will be announced at a later date.
