Information about the 2026 Commencement registration and ticketing process will be posted here (and distributed by the schools to graduating students) by February 2026.
Emory University’s Commencement experience comprises multiple ceremonies and events spanning five days.
Emory University Ceremony: A university ceremony honoring all degree candidates. Attendance is in-person for all bachelor’s degree candidates and virtual (via live webcast) for associates, masters, and doctoral degree candidates.
All bachelor’s degree candidates and their ticketed guests (ticket information available in February) will gather to witness the pomp and circumstance of Emory’s processional march, the keynote address, honorary degree presentations, the president’s address to the graduating class, and the formal group conferral of all student degrees earned. All bachelor's degree candidates are required to attend this event. Their diplomas will be distributed at school ceremonies following the University Ceremony.
School Diploma or Graduate Recognition Ceremonies: Hosted by each school’s dean, these ceremonies include individual student recognition (called forward by name to cross the stage). These ceremonies take place at a variety of times and locations during Commencement weekend. See schedule for full listing.
Who Can Attend the University Ceremony?
Bachelor's degree candidates and their ticketed guests. Students will receive information about registration and number of guest tickets in the coming months from their school and through our registration provider, Tassel.
Will There Be a Live Stream of the University Ceremony?
Yes! The live stream can be viewed at our webcasts page (page is available closer to Commencement Weekend). Soon after, the live event video will be available for archival viewing.
When Should I Arrive For the University Ceremony?
Doors will open approximately one hour before each ceremony. We recommend that guests plan their arrival accordingly considering travel distance to Gas South District (if staying in downtown Atlanta or near Emory), traffic, and parking.
Seat reservation policy: in order to be fair to all guests, guest seats may not be reserved for groups. The seat holder must remain in place while holding seats for their immediate family party. Signs, ribbons, rope, etc. cannot be used to hold seats. All guests will need a ticket to enter this event.
How Long Is the University Ceremony?
Approximately one and a half hours (10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.).
At which Ceremony Do Graduates Have Their Name Called And Cross The Stage?
Each school’s diploma or graduate recognition ceremony includes students being called forward by name to be individually recognized. More information about each ceremony can be found on the schedule page.
Is there a Ticket Limit for the School Ceremonies?
Schools will contact graduates with information related to their ceremonies.
